DAS Group LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates CiteClear. This policy explains what we collect, what we do with it, and how the citation verification flow works.

1. What We Collect

• Pasted text that you submit into the verification tool.
• Optional email addresses entered for follow-up, newsletter signup, or product updates.
• Basic usage analytics such as page views, clicks, browser type, screen size, and anonymous session identifiers.
• Optional survey responses you submit after using the tool.

2. How the Verification Flow Works

CiteClear runs a deterministic preflight in the browser first. That preflight inspects the text you pasted for citation markers, dates, formatting signals, and nearby claim support.

If you choose to continue to AI-assisted review, CiteClear prepares a structured prompt and opens the configured AI provider in a new tab. At the time of writing, that provider is Claude. Any text you send in that step is processed under the provider's own policies.

3. What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use your pasted document text to train or fine-tune AI models.
• We do not store pasted document text on our servers as part of the local preflight step.
• We do not trigger AI review automatically behind the scenes. That handoff only happens if you explicitly choose it.

4. Third-Party Services

• Supabase: analytics and lightweight form/event storage.
• Stripe: payment processing for paid plans or payment links.
• Anthropic / Claude: optional AI-assisted citation review when you explicitly open that step.
• Beehiiv: newsletter delivery.
• Google Fonts: typography delivery.

5. Data Retention

We retain analytics events, optional contact details, and survey responses for as long as needed to operate and improve the product. We do not retain pasted document text from the local preflight step.

6. Security

We use HTTPS for data in transit and standard access controls for the systems we operate. No system is perfectly secure, but we aim to minimize both the amount of sensitive data collected and the number of places it is stored.

7. Your Choices

• You can use the local preflight without entering an email address.
• You can stop before AI-assisted review and keep the analysis entirely local to your browser session.
• You can unsubscribe from newsletter emails at any time.
• You can request deletion of stored contact or survey data by emailing us.
